Ethical Nutrients develops new high strength liquid fish oil to assist Australians living with arthritis
Ethical Nutrients is supporting Arthritis Australia efforts to educate the 3.85 million Australians living with arthritis about the importance of taking the correct daily dose of fish oil to help reduce the joint inflammation associated with arthritis.
Based on current research, Arthritis Australia suggests the dose of fish oil needed to reduce joint inflammation associated with arthritis is 2.7 grams of omega-3 daily (EPA/DHA).
Ethical Nutrients has responded to the latest research and to Arthritis Australia's recommendations by developing a new high strength liquid fish oil that provides 2.7 grams of omega-3 (EPA/DHA) in one teaspoon.
While a person might ordinarily take one or two fish oil capsules per day, the required dosage needed to reduce joint inflammation associated with arthritis is actually nine standard fish oil capsules, which many people may find impractical.
Ethical Nutrients has made taking the daily dose simple and convenient with one standard metric teaspoon delivering the recommended dose of 2.7 grams of omega-3 (EPA/DHA). To receive this in the form of food you would have to eat an average of 1.23 kg of snapper or 1.1 kg of canned tuna per day.
Ethical Nutrients will be educating the public about the recommended dose during Arthritis Awareness Week from 29 March to 4 April and throughout 2009, as arthritis is Australia's major cause of disability and pain with nearly one in five Australians (3.85 million people) currently living with arthritis, a figure that is projected to rise to seven million by 2050.
In addition to Ethical Nutrients Hi-Strength Liquid Fish Oil providing the recommended dose it has a fruit punch flavour that leaves no fishy after taste making it easy and pleasant to take.
